It is a pleasure and honor for me to welcome you to the forthcoming 50th IOSCO Annual Meeting which we are hosting in Doha on 12-14 May 2025.

As you know, Qatar Financial Markets Authority (QFMA) won the honor to host this meeting after having your votes and trust. We, in turn, promise you that it will be one of the most successful IOSCO annual meetings if not the most successful ever, because since the announcement of winning the honor of hosting, we are determined with a strong will, to provide all the reasons for success, and to create all favorable conditions to ensure that the meeting includes useful working sessions, and exchange of ideas and opinions within discussions enriching the purposeful constructive dialogue, in a way that provide joint benefit for all of us, the capital market regulators and financial sectors we represent.

We will soon gather at one of Doha’s iconic landmarks, Sheraton Grand Doha Hotel, which has hosted numerous international conferences and meetings over the past decades, to further strengthen our cooperation and discuss together various issues and developments facing the capital markets in our countries.

At Sheraton Grand Doha Hotel, we will hold joint meetings during which we will highlight a series of matters that are directly related to our activities and areas of work as securities regulators, such as protecting investors, achieving financial stability, promoting reliable and sustainable investments, and transforming the challenges that may face us into opportunities that support the growth and stability of capital markets, and represent ,on the other hand, opportunities for new areas through which the process of attracting and employing capital can be enhanced to serve the development of capital markets, technological and digital developments, in addition to the topics of artificial intelligence that seems to lead the great transformation witnessed by the capital markets, and how we can use this advanced technology in the service of the financial sector, and raise its performance to advanced levels that return to the investment environment with more growth, stability and sustainability.

Through this interactive website of the IOSCO 50th Annual Meeting, we seek to provide an interactive E-portal for all participants or those wishing to participate in the Meeting, as the website provides a window to receive applications for participation and electronic registration, and another to browse the meeting agenda and find out the key speakers, the topics will be covered during the meeting term, as well as the venue and the direction of the hotel hosting the meeting.

The meeting website also includes information about the State of Qatar and the city of Doha, a unique tourist destination that combines ancient heritage with modern architecture, charming beaches, cultural museums, shopping malls that reflect the richness of diversity, entertainment venues and luxury restaurants that will make your participation in the meeting a useful and unique experience.
